it's kind of depressing to me that the one major project i lead is kind of linux only due to every other major unix-like being a full OS over a kernel + components
linux going to shit, people start thinking about trying a *bsd, and openrc does support a few *bsds, but every single one ships with it's own service manager and i don't think no one would seriously non-experimentally use openrc there
the only projects that could be realistically and usefully ported, are stuff that i never even got to an mvp (wayland compositor & clients, irc software)
i'm awful at developing things tbh, anything i start goes nowhere, the only reason openrc is meaningful while being related to my name, is because i took over maintainership of smth that was already established
and now i have nowhere else to go with it, and scared what i'd be without it
