You don't need to choose one or the other. BitChat for everyone who has the phone (so basically everyone). Than you can use Bitchat-meshcore bridge - and you need just two - to connect those two mesh...

Or with reticulum it only has to be complicated for the person setting it up.
That's why I'm going with reticulum.

People can download sideband or Columbia on their phones to connect over the wifi mesh to the lora mesh.

Also I kinda like that reticulum uses encrypted key pairs like nostr and Bitcoin.

The closest meshtastic node is like 250 km away and the closest meshcore node is like 400km away from my location.
Which are both way out of range to impact my decision, if something already existed in a neighbouring town I'd just go with that.

Yeah. In Europe, MeshCore is literally almost everywhere, at least in cities I've visited so far. Like you don't even need to put the lora node to the window, I can just use it from bathroom if I want to. And I think it's quite nice to start the network effect with something that benefits from it -...
