When you automate or abstract something, you're making a guess about what the user needs to know about, and sometimes it turns out you obfuscated away important understanding. Rather then actually considering these tradeoffs we seem to just be automating the fuck out of everything and finding out the hard way, but that's absolutely not necessary.

When I wrote this post I wasn't thinking about ai, I was thinking about how some of the abstractions in glitch that had been enabling became problematic over time. With some of the vibe coding platforms what happens is initially enabling then turns out not to be as you e.g. need to extend your app...
