“Corporations can and should go fuck themselves. But putting your message out there is what’s important.”
- Josh Homme on the music industry (Spotify and others)

Makes me wonder if going nostr-only and making myself invisible wasn't shooting myself in the foot. By doing that I gained a little street credit but that's pretty much all.

Truth is nobody really cares. Even I don't care if you're nostr-only or not. It's a cool thing to say but the people I connected with through projects and gigs would work with me even if I was a linkedIn bitch. Because it's about putting good work out there, not forming a cult.

Good people and projects can come from anywhere, and sadly, they will more likely come from platforms that should go fuck themselves.

Just something to think about.

Nice, I'll have to check out that video. I like queens of the stone age. Yea, I've been thinking about that too. What's the point of making art if no one sees it? Its like that one question: If a tree falls in a forest, and there’s no one around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Nostr's weak spot is discovery: beyond your follower list almost nothing surfaces, and no relay ranks posts for you. Useful split: ownership here, distribution elsewhere, in tha...

Yes. You're absolutely right. #nostr has no reach. It's a silo. But it *is* quality over quantity.

It’s not so much the question whether or not someone is nostr only or not, IMO. Original content, coherent user base, and bridges to legacy systems for discovery. These factors decide.

nostr:nprofile1qqsf8m44djeygdduvzxty5k4xle57gdsynzae0hydycd5hrdj3578xs6ejchg I post on LinkedIn and Nostr both, and the people I work with never asked which one I prefer. That Josh Homme quote fits.

Fair point. I think there's a big difference between regular users and people trying to get a career off the ground.

I debate this with myself often. I always side with the Indie Web but I'm siloed for sure. Fortunately my living expenses are low.
