And your assumption is wrong, inflation means new coins are created, not that existing ones are stolen.

Also, it would be hard to detect inflation on monero, because amounts are hidden. So the network can't really "block" them.

The final part i agree with you, the increased supply would send the price down

Amplify what is permitted, not what you desire. Sound money requires verifiable scarcity. If supply is hidden, the institution owns the truth, not you. Sovereignty begins with transparency.

But only if the supply increase is proportionally large. A few here and there wouldn't show up. That's what I would do if I want to sell them

Just so you know, the Liquid network could block the transactions that exploited this bug. The network can be rolled back to eliminate the inflation on the network because you can see which transactions exploited the bug, just like you could see which transaction exploited Bitcoin's overflow bug.
