Gratitude is directive and inevitable. It feels like the cold sand beneat! the burning crust when walking on the beach in a hot day

and like the warm sand under the cold crust when walking the same path under the moon

SIMULTANEOUSLY

Empathy is the sand, and the sound of the waves, and the breeze on your face, the salt on the lips. It is the reflection of the moon on the eyes of the one. It is the heat of the sun.

Together they are all of these plus the Milky Way and all the old stars that remain yet unnamed
