Wasn't the stratum protocol invented so we can mine in pools without trust. Why should we give pools that trust? Imo historically speaking we shouldn't. You can still put your Bitcoins in Ecash afterwards if you like to.

I agree, but what do you think of the BOLT12 integration done by Ocean, is that private enough. I also spoke about a way to have Silent Payment addresses implemented, but I think Luke says it's kinda like a nothing burger (I am giving a watered down version of what he said, of course)

This can increase network security as well! Compared to onchain distribution of rewards, ecash would allow small miners with otherwise insignificant hash power. They would have rewards below the dust level and go for custodial solutions with centralized block templates.
