Once I’ve submitted my manuscript and figures this month for my forthcoming book on constructed scripts I can start to gear up for the academic tenure-line faculty job market in graphic design again. I have fourteen years of experience teaching typography, graphic design, and design theory and ethics to US undergrads. I have lots to share with engaged and actively curious students interested in digging behind the immediate appearance and function of type and design to think about their process and context, and about what they can tell us about the human condition. I’d probably be the best fit with programs that emphasize the research aspects of design, or readily recognize them in the work of their faculty. 2/4
