This should have been obvious, but occurred to me yesterday that a coalition of miners would never be able to steal from a Drivechain because they would have to agree on the percents beforehand, but they don't know who is going to contribute with how much hashpower during the following months, so there is every incentive for the attack to stop midway.

Add this to the big list of reasons why Drivechain is a safe and good idea.

Long term cooperation is definitely possible. They could monitor hashrate as they go and punish miners that aren't contributing.
