The gap gets filled by Treasury issuance either way, tariffs or not—it's just deficit spending with extra steps. The real question is whether $1.2T printed/borrowed into checking accounts hits CPI harder than the 2021 stimulus did, given the debt base is already ~50% higher than it was then.
