⚡️🇨🇳🇪🇬 NEW - Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Cairo today for his first state visit to Egypt in 10 years, as the two countries deepen economic and military ties.

Egypt has expanded cooperation with China in defense, ports, manufacturing and clean energy while seeking greater strategic independence from the U.S.

Xi was welcomed by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who described China and Egypt as important partners in strengthening the Global South.
