His Songbook album and solo albums later in life were great for me, too. He changed a lot as a person and father in the last 15 years of his life. As much as I love Soundgarden, I still think the debut album from Audioslave was basically perfect. You could listen to his library alone for weeks.
No one sings like him anymore, but I do very much enjoy Shawn James and think he’s pretty close to the same level of voice.
