I need to go flying again and see if this makes landings that much more natural...

Like my vision has always been "fine". I don't need glasses to drive (or fly). I was told as far back as high school that I didn't have 20/20, and also it probably wouldn't be worth the hassle. Stuff in the distance _is_ a bit sharper and more readable, but holy cow! I didn't expect the stereo thing!

My prescription is in the 0.5 - 0.75 range, but I think it's the astigmatism that really dulls the stereo for me.

The other oddity I found fascinating as a graphics programmer was that, sure it increased the readable distance of road signs by maybe 20 to 30%, but the distance I was able to discern moire in fences or railings while driving seems to be *much* further than that.
