A man with a history of anti-ICE activity was taken into custody after authorities said he ignited an incendiary device outside the federal building at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan, New York, which houses an immigration court, sparking a fire, per ABC News.
The FBI said the suspect used fireworks to start the blaze. Two people, a federal employee and a civilian, sustained minor injuries and were treated and released.
FBI Assistant Director in Charge James Barnacle described the incident as an “anti-government attack on a federal facility” and said the suspect was carrying an incendiary device, a pellet gun and a sign reading “ICE Off Our Streets.”
The FBI’s New York Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating.
