Probably the way to go is an intermediate local relay. Your app talks to just one relay on localhost. That relay tries to sync out. This way, all clients are "offline capable".

Any downloadable client with a database or that allows for local relays. I can use my clients offline, but something like Wisp or Amethyst would also work, if you connect a local relay to it.
