I regularly attend a privacy meetup. While there were mixed opinions on Bitcoin and privacy until recently, and also on Bitcoin as an opt-out tool, it now seems everyone agrees that Bitcoin is the wrong choice. Bitcoin as a transparent investment tool, yes; for maintaining privacy, no; for opting out. Everyone is now a Monero user.

It's also clear that the Monero community is united in its goal and won't be deterred.
