Cars have done more to drive social isolation than any other technology in American life.
People don't know their neighbors because they're forced to live in far-flung areas, so that boomers can have their single-family homes smack dab in the middle of the most in-demand real estate markets like the SF bay area.
AND you're forced to literally travel with an ID *strapped to the back* of your conveyance. Can you imagine how ludicrous it would be if every time you had to walk anywhere you had to wear a windbreaker with a number on it?
