I'm having a look at ditto and yakihonne, ta! Do clients cycle out of fashion? I've been around for almost 2 years now so maybe this is my time to hop🤔

I've been around roughly the same amount of time, and am not really sure. There does appear to be an uptick in new clients recently, I think in part due to AI unlocking a lot of powers to build quickly. Wisp, which I haven't used as it's Android-only, is apparently quite good and built by one guy in a matter of weeks (I think, I might be slightly wrong here; and he's a proper dev, so it's apparently not "slop").
Damus has been degrading in usability for me (lots of crashes, and I too had issues uploading images, or was it only videos maybe, a short time ago) and some others recently, I dunno, I still use it a good bit though, as it's still snappy/fast and I'm used to the UI. Jumble on desktop is pretty great. Nostur, Yakihonne, Primal, and now Ditto on mobile all work pretty well.
The lesson for me recently has been, it's good to try out more clients, they offer different things and teach you a lil bit more about the possibilities of NOSTR.

new clients that grow poorly will be the rule for most vibe coders. every feature increases the chances of the ai mangling something important and not being able to find it. when i do my dev, i probably get the ai to audit and fix it more of the time than feature addition. https://smesh.lol is my cu...
