Went to a coffee shop in Amsterdam that is shown on BTC Map. Unfortunately when I asked to pay in bitcoin, the gentleman working today said he didn't know how to do it. He knows that they have the ability to accept Bitcoin, but would have to have a co-worker who wasn't there at the time show him how.

Passed up a lot of other coffee shops to go to one that accepted Bitcoin, too.

This happens to me way too often. I tell them there’s just a button on your screen and they won’t even look.

The bagel shop by me on the screen when they show your total there is a toggle button on the corner of the screen that you slide to Bitcoin and a Lightning QR code pops up

I have had that happen several times on my travels. I was at a cafe in Switzerland that was on BTC Maps. The worker was offended that I wanted to pay in corn. He went on this long rant about how it's going to boil the oceans.

Adoption has to happen at the POS level and not the owners mobile level. Square POS is doing the correct thing because employees don't care about Bitcoin or anything else. They just want to do their job and go home.
