I got hired as team lead for a drupal team about 15 years ago. I got so horrified, I quit the job after two hours and told them do not pay me.
I had my first at Drupal around 2011 and didn't liked it. So I ignored it till version 8 when more and more components of the Symfony framework got adopted. I have a hate-love relationship with it, but it is paying my bills as a soloist. There is a lot of value you can extract from Drupal, but it requires a deep-mindset with deep-work.
