From what I read, the USA haven't had public executions since WW2

It's more about public justice. Showing that justice has been made. I don't understand the out cry against it. Is anyone ashamed about this execution that he is trying to hide it?

Public executions to distract us, "suicides" behind closed doors to bury the truth. If they really cared about public justice, they'd start by releasing the Epstein files in full. Then you wouldn't need to livestream a spectacle to restore our trust in the justice system.
