The Fly That Wouldn't Die:
Originally found tucked into a fabric seam. After exposed, ran straight into my face and was then gone. Spotted against some curtains. Direct hit with a fly-swatter, dropped, "played dead", and flew away under the curtains.
Another hit, and it seemed down. I attempt to grab it with some toilet paper for flushing. Threw the wad of TP in the bowl, WHAT'S THIS, it escaped before drowning! Wife closes the door to the bathroom, now it's "Thunderdome"... Only one of us comes out here alive, and I have to assume that if it's this arthropod, he inherits my House and Sacred Honour. The stakes are set.
But where is he? Nowhere to be found, but I knew he was close. *Too* close. Hmm, this bugger has noted penchant for getting in my face, could it be... ACK, IT'S ON MY NECK! Brush it off, and FINALLY it winds up in the toilet, still writhing in the water. I immediately flush even though the tank hasn't refilled yet, and it's finally gone.
FOR NOW....?
