I tried again a few days ago adding to amethyst but it breaks every other functionality. When Google was adding it to compose in the beta you could just add a function to any text field but they are now forcing to use the basic text field which requires changing everything

Already had it in yakihonne ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. But yea, more client options with more features is better. Especially when everyone is experimenting wildly -- things sometimes break, and redundancy rules the day.

The moat is the maintenance cost. When you're defending a feature roadmap instead of just building what works, 15 minutes becomes a committee meeting becomes a quarter.
