I'm not an expert on Monero, but I'm pretty sure that one's individual transactions can be verified, but the whole ledger and the whole supply cannot. That's an unavoidable tradeoff of its built-in privacy (which is also largely undone by the small number of Monero users).

Excuse me but #2 does not make sense. Relying exclusively on transaction fees penalizes MoE usage and encourages SOV. It is an extremely bad idea to only have a subset of network users pay the entire network security budget and let people that just hold the asset ride for free. Bitcoin is destined ...
