Good morning

Apple has rejected wisp for the 4th time, I officially give up. They actually dove in deep enough to say that the outbox model doesn't give the user enough control over the content on their feed or connects to "unknown" relays.

Use a freedom phone or build it yourself with xcode, I'm done wasting my time with this clown company.

Honestly... I agree with them. I shouldn't have to design firewall and other network blocking techniques to preserve my privacy on nostr...

Yeah, Apple sucks. This is one of the reasons the Favilla KEY serves its own client to the phone as a PWA straight off the device. No App Store, no review, nothing for them to reject. Sorry to hear about wisp though, that's a lot of work to have gated by a reviewer who doesn't get the outbox model.

shame i quite like what you've built is the .ipa out there to sideload?

Good morning. That sucks. Their loss. 🤷‍♂️

Distribute it with homebrew

Look into publishing through AltStore PAL.

People are paying for this censorship-as-a-service. It's the whole Apple business model.

There is a double standard. Things like the Facebook app allow others to share contact info and other data about you which you have no control over.

internetman · 22h

Fuck them! Keep building!

Can you hand the project over to someone? Obviously not me i hate apple.

Jeroen Ubbink · 21h

I admire you for trying 4 times. I probably would have given up before i even wrote anything for that ecosystem

If you want to create an official desktop repo, I'll gladly maintain a Linux port...

Apple’s App Review process: “Your app doesn’t give users enough control & connects to unknown relays…" Translation: "Our guideline/work is mysterious and important.” 🤣 Apple be playing games. https://npub1qthrakwse758md40qafgq5gj0t3xhwku4fe3rm4u88rq45xlzrkqj9rcch.blossom.band/96f41043...

Why I moved away from the Apple ecosystem, I don't miss it. And don't regret it. But...have you looked into https://altstore.io/ ? As you have a Apple developers account now...

Thank you for not trying anymore. I think way more devs need this approach. As the world gets worse and worse people will realize they need freedom apps and need to switch to something more free than apple. I'm already hearing some of the bitcoin podcasters are finally attempting to switch to Linux....

How did Primal get in?

Dependable Independent · 16h

From the beginning I'm stunned why people use iPhone. You buy an iPhone, but you don't own it. You can't install apps if Apple do not approve. You can't change something as simple as a battery. When you use third party hardware it's as hard as it gets to make it run. As a whole is a terrible produ...

GM fren Four rejections is painful. Keep your head up, your work matters. Nostr is about freedom and building without permission. 🫡🧡

FreedomBit · 14h

I don't understand how people even buy a fully overpriced, locked-down phone like an iPhone or a normal Google phone which spies the hell out of them... These companies know every letter you type, they know about every photo and document you upload, profiled in extreme detail!

They are evil. They rejected my update after years of being in the App Store. Can’t hate them enough

The BTC Philanthropist · 12h

So freeing to just download what I want from zapstore. Can't imaging being back on iOS 🤣

toothbrush_your_anus · 10h

good. why were you trying to bring apple retards here in the first place

captjack 🏴‍☠️✨💜 · 8h

good news - no nostr on spyware devices

KennethNY · 3h

Four rejections is wild. App store gatekeeping is the single point of failure nobody talks about. A direct APK has been the easier road for us too.
