You don't need to do some extreme diet or cut everything so hard that you hate eating and life

Just learn how many calories you're eating and try to get a reasonable amount of protein, most people will lose weight by just decreasing their portions of the exact same food.

Can confirm. We halved the portion size of our meals and are now losing weight, feeling better and just as active. I think we've been brought up in the West to over-eat, probably for simple profit motives.
