Coinkite CTO, Peter D. Gray (DocHex), created a nym named "switck" in 2020, then used it to contribute the libngu library that contained the RNG bug.

Crucially, Coinkite publicly thanked switck in their 2021 release notes, and the commits were signed with Peter D. Gray's GPG key, meaning he had full control over the code that went into production.

This looks like he deliberately used the pseudonym to separate his personal identity from the code contribution.

Refers to themselves as a "Wizard Level Developer"?! I agree with the "disrupts industries" part though. https://blossom.primal.net/a0fb818070e016e10833836f10cfac554bb2ab5cb02409d410b83932f2233b0e.png

Not even wizard enough to spin up a separate gpg key for switck! And even if switck was a real legit dev, who would use code for a project like this from someone who has no history and what made Peter think that doing this somehow made himself and Coinkite look good and on top of things?
