I can't help wondering if they even UNDERSTAND what it looks like to send JD "yes, Daddy" Vance to "negotiate" without *any* authority to make *any* decisions whatsoever.
Was it the only thing they could think of to do, was it a distraction/buying time, or did they *actually* think it would work out for them? And if they did think that...WHY did they think that?
That's what boggles my mind about these people sometimes: why did they think x was a good idea when they did it?
