I don't even know how to describe the situation with Coldcard.
[ i don't care about the maxi clowns at the helm of the company ]
Remember how we used to repeat that it's physically impossible to audit absolutely all the software you use, even if it's open source?
Can we still say that in July 2026, having Kimi K3? Or has it simply turned into a question of money/time/desire?
Some companies managed by kings with their heads held high, who can't think to run their own code through a capable LLM, are paying with their reputations, and naive users are paying with their money.
I have gradually started checking parts of the software that are critical to me, including updates. Yes, it's not cheap, but it's still cheaper than losing money by trusting a team of marketers and company management with their heads held high.
