There's one time at the mosque when my friend decided to teach Quran recitation to a group instead of one on one. I was practicing with them when suddenly one of the kids got angry because his Quran was different from ours.

He couldn't recite with us because of the differences. He was reading Warsh. We were reading Hafs.

He screamed saying that we had fake Qurans and he left. I never saw him practice recitation afterwards.

In a way, he was kind of right.

If the Quran was preserved through recitation since the prophet's lifetime, why can't a group of people randomly pick up their Qurans and recite together?
