One of the main complaints about open-source phone operating systems is that banking apps don't work. I always found this confusing, because I just ignore the app and use the bank's website, but I learned recently that most Europeans aren't allowed to do that. The app is mandatory.

I too had been under the impression that privacy was a big deal in Europe. I've been repeatedly shocked and horrified over the past few months by revelations like this.
