so I can knit, fairly normally, but feeding the stitches round is slow and annoying. My friend G thinks 120cm was way too big a cable and I should have got 80cm one. Probably right since I'm used to having a lot of stitches on my 40cm straights.

I have made it back to the unpicked yarn end, I'm on the 5th row. So it's going! I managed short rows in the back at row 3, not sure it's going to work, but it's worth putting at least some in. (aim is to raise the back neck to account for upper back curvature).

Yeah, a shorter cable may work better for you. If it's too long it stretches the knitting and gets awkward. Or you have to do a magic loop kinda thing which is really annoying if you're not used to it.
