Devs impose a Tyranny of the Update. You have to update to use new features and you're forced to accept ever new bug or undesired feature as well. Enshittification is an inevitable outcome in a system that allows perpetual updates.

A sovereign future for the user is one in which their apps don't break if they refuse to update them.

I dream of an AI agent that just scans app stores (open source like fdroid or zapstore, obvs) for updates, determines which of the updates are bug fixes and which are feature creep, and rewrites the code to only include real bug fixes.
