For possibly the first time in history we have an uncensored, unedited, non-redactable, very public month long record of shameful human behavior during potentially the best and worst of times. A textbook example of the consequence of bullies unleashed in a schoolyard with no adults to be found and a demonstration of how easily something great can be destroyed by primitives.
