after running this for a day only seeing 8.2% of knots nodes on clearnet. this isn't even AS bucketed yet.

1540 unique core ipv4 peers
126 unique knots ipv4 addrs

this is without tor to avoid tor sybils (creating multiple tor endpoints per node)

I wonder if someone really is inflating their numbers via tor tricks... hmm. will continue the investigation in a couple days to gather more data + tor stats.

I imagine it's a lot of start9/umbrel people that are tor only

Strong signal considering most will be tor

I feel like the numbers are inflated for sure. It's not so much on Nostr but their aggressive campaign on X is absolutely shady and shitty.

That seems like a high share of knots nodes.

The only number you should be tracking: 0 unique core v30 nodes https://blossom.primal.net/4c1bdcebd69a8803c2d00e242215d5eb945d5a1311edd1f5dd04e92c5ee8d5f8.jpg

“(..) only seeing 8.2% of knots nodes on clearnet” Why not include all those who run Knots on Tor-only StartOS from nostr:nprofile1qqs9df4h2deu3aae83fmet5xmrlm4w5l9gdnsy3q2n7dklem7ezmwfcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnfdenx7tcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtc5fhmq4, Will?

I just allowed my Knots to connect to clearnet as I have no control how would my node be classified if connected via Tor and I2P. I am not sure if your scripts take this into account as the exit node may very well be a relay on AWS for example. I didn't look into it, so just saying. 🤷🏻‍♂...

Tor is a majority of all nodes for privacy. What happened to 2.4%?
