Degrees just show the person's retarded enough to spend money they don't have on a piece of paper that won't even be applicable. Even without the massive debts they're just a hindrance/red flag.

I was able to get mine with very little debt. They aren't for everyone, but they can open up doors that are financially lucrative and good careers. I wouldn't discourage everyone starting out now from pursuing one, but I certainly wouldn't recommend taking on heavy debt for it or going for something useless. There are ways to get the paper without debt and corruption of the mind.
