⚡️📈 NEW - Streaming was supposed to be the cheaper alternative to cable, but the math is starting to look very different.

A new analysis shows the combined price of eight major streaming services has risen to around $151 a month for ad-free plans. Four years ago, that lineup was about $90, an increase of nearly 70%.

The hikes are not small. Apple TV+ is now around 200% more expensive than at launch, while Netflix Premium has risen roughly 125% from its 2013 price.

For consumers, streaming is starting to look less like one affordable replacement for cable

Torrenting for those who know how to use a VPN for far less.

One day, youtube was an ad-free alternative to watching TV... Greed turns everything into shit.

Is it the price of streaming going up, or it's the indirect tax we all get to pay for these SV tech companies who are taxed up to their eyeballs

This is impacting people I know. I canceled Disney+ and a lot of people use IPTV

It’s still better than cable. My friends just log in on my devices and boom, it’s free for me.

This was obvious 15 years ago when cord cutting became mainstream. You’re not going to get cheaper streaming ditching cable for the internet from the same companies that provide you the cable.
