The answers I get when I invite people are 1) their network isn't here, 2) they don't understand Bitcoin. I think this is short term, and the best think I can think of to fix it is to build bridges to other services like X or Blue sky, much like was done with the Fediverse and Mastodon.

It is the same reason they are limited to fiat and why they took the knee for the COVID jab to keep their fiat job. Can't fix stupid.

I believe it is mostly a UX issue. Selecting a client, creating an account, understanding nsec/npub, ... Not to mention the interactions with Bitcoin/LN. It's a lot to digest and manage.
