I reminded my wife yesterday that most people have a below average IQ. Say what you want about it as a metric generally, but it's a good short cut and it helps you take inventory of the people you interact with--both in that it reduces the amount of time you waste on certain people but also increases your ability to empathize with people who have skulls full of raisonettes.
