@nprofile1q... references (unless they're design references, like cloths, hairstyles, colors, etc.) are there to get the concepts into your brain and muscle memory... blindly using references all the time is just copying mindlessly.

way too many artists use references just as a "copy from" place instead of "learning" the basics and applying them from their memory.

the goal for artists should be to study references and then draw what they have learned.
