I think Motorola could be a trojan horse to attack GrapheneOS users.
GrapheneOS became more popular after the initial nexus and pixel hardware was designed, leaving no time for the phone companies to collaborate with the government beforehand.
Motorola offers ALPR solutions and surveillance infrastructure for the government, and a new motorola phone appearing as a new option could be a way of getting grapheneOS users to run the system on top of backdoored hardware, without even the developers knowing about it. Heck, I don't even fully trust the secure element in modern pixel phones.
It's very suspicious that after Operation Trojan Shield the big ones just apparently stopped trying. I think this could be it.
