The Japanese tax system is absolutely brutal. It punishes success and ensures people do not try to earn much.

If you want to fix your nation, simply fix your tax system. A system that steals wealth and punishes success is bound to keep your nation in shambles.

My home country (which I left long ago) taxes your last earned money at close to 70%. VAT is 25%. If you own property, you pay property tax _and_ property value tax. No sane person lives there.

Same here in Austria. In addition if you earn little you have to decide whether to work at all bcs. state subsidies are catching up with the lower income bracket.

"Society" or so called "civilisation" can never be built on theft at its base. I even refuse tk call these pre-barbarian "modern" societies "civilised" as long as they are not based on consensual and contract based voluntary interactions.
