According to CNN, citing sources familiar with the matter, Iran is stepping up military reinforcements on Kharg Island, a location of major economic and strategic importance. The buildup reportedly includes larger troop deployments, antipersonnel mines, man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS), and other defensive measures.
