Anyone have any suggestions for the best way to get a globally usable internet phone number or something close (North & South America being the primary focus)?

I am temporarily using Silent Link for data & intend to switch to a more local service provider, but I would like to set up a SIP number that I can use with pretty much any data plan or service.

Anyone have any experience doing something similar? Are there services that are more or less secure than others or is it all just equally insecure as a general form of communication?

Are texts & calls generally reliable so long as the data connection is good or is it hit & miss?

Hushed works OK but the notifications are hit and miss on GrapheneOS. Call quality is good if it establishes a good connection, maybe 1 out of 20 calls are flaky but are fixed with hanging up and calling again. I would also like to know if anyone else has a better option. https://hushed.com/

I was excited about JMP for a while, as its the only VOIP (besides google) I could find that did proper group MMS, and they accept Bitcoin. But the cheogram app is clunky, I'm missing messages regularly and porting my number out got messed up. I need to try again.
