My mom (who lives in Mexico) asked me to request the baptismal certificates for me and my brother (who lives in Switzerland). I’m not Catholic, but it seemed like a simple enough favor, so I agreed.

Our parish of baptism (in Tennessee) has the certificates, but they’re not annotated, so I had to contact the parish where we received our First Communion (in Canada) to get that sorted out.

This has turned into an international ecumenical quest.
