Bought this fruit tree for my wife 6 years ago, this was the first year it was actually bearing fruit for us. And then I just noticed this! Anyone know, can I save the tree? Any tips or suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated!

You're gonna have to prune that tree back. Hard. Modern varieties aren't designed to live without humans keeping them trimmed. Too much weight of fruit without a corresponding increase in structural strength

Oh wow it’s splitting right in the middle. I don’t know if it would work but see if you can prune the lower branches that are pulling it down and then tie the upper branches to salvage it. But the tear is exposed so not sure if the tree can repair itself.

Yes you can save it. This is what I'd do: First take some weight off by cutting off some of the branches that are putting the most stress on the tree. Then I'd pull the wound close togetherwith a ratchet strap up a little bit on the 2 main branches. Then wrap the wound together to get a tight...
