1. There are many mints to choose from.
2. Most merchants are unlikely to gain a significant amount of Bitcoin paying customers.

makes sense, but have you tried this approach with merchants? I'm not sure I would even know how to begin explaining the mint stuff
and they have to pick a mint, right? what if that specific mint goes offline, by chance? not even a rugpull, just offline for some days
