Reflecting on giving and receiving gifts. Cheese man and I have had this discussion before but recently it shifted in to how you may be buying a gift for someone that you think they need instead of gifting what the person actually needs or wants. I try to gift handmade things and I understand that comes with strings (hahaha) attatched, but I also let the people know that I'd love for them to pass it along or donate it if they don't love it or it's no longer useful...and/or giftcards, cash, or sats. This is relevant because I was gifted a chair craft organizer thing that I hated but tried to make it work for 10 years instead of giving it to someone who could've used it, it's breaking down now and just got tossed and all these years later I'm worried about hurting the givers feelings.
TL/DR Don't gift burdens to people. Find out what they really want.
