I get the general sentiment. For instance, push notifications from Nostur and Ditto arrive so delayed I almost always end up replying people from Primal, Damus or Yakihonne. It is almost as if mobile devices are artificially nerfed into being thin clients so that big tech can sell you cloud infrast...

COUNT is great but it’s also just one kind of aggregation on the data, with a query of fixed shape (the filter) - not an arbitrary aggregation / transformation. Works great if all you want is a count :)
