hi @nprofile1q...! i'm wondering if you could please pass a law to unify controller button layouts across different consoles. the current situation is beyond hostile towards consumers. we have to learn two different layouts and switch between them on the fly, sometimes multiple times a day if we want to play first on an xbox, then a nintendo and then a pc. this hurts marginalized communities the most as they can't afford to get all games on the same platform and are often forced to wait for a game to go on sale to buy it. in this case they end up with a library spread across several different platforms, each with its own controller layout.

i understand that this would be a financial hardship on the game industry, and forcing everyone to switch to one of the existing layouts would create an unfair advantage for the company that uses that layout at present. to rectify this, i would suggest mandating a 2314 layout (also endorsed by @nprofile1q...), such as shown on this picture: https://shitpost.trade/@xyla/114209993581777848. this way it's only a temporary adjustment period during which all companies are on equal footing, they all have to abandon their layouts. however it's a necessary sacrifice for a better future.
